Midwest was contracted to complete a new expansion for ESPEC’s headquarters in hudsonville, Michigan. The building was constructed with Pre-engineered steel with building system pre-cast concrete Tilt-up panels (a construction technique using pre-cast concrete and allowing for a shorter completion time). Midwest reused one side of the building’s existing panels, taking them down, storing them, and putting them back up. This resulted in substantial savings for the owner. The site was challenging. Midwest needed to bring in a lot of fill and needed a substantial retaining wall on the west side of the building where there once was a ravine. The project consisted of building a two-story break area, office space, meeting space, and event space. The Exterior was designed to match the existing facility.
