Dear Midwest Community,
It is our primary focus to stay committed to the health and safety of our employees and their families, customers, vendors and partners. As the general contractor on our projects, we’re aware we play an integral role in the job. While we would love to keep all of these jobs going, unless they are deemed essential, we will be continuing to follow the Governor’s orders closely until the Shelter in Place is lifted and/or construction is deemed an essential job. Rest assured, if you see our team working or trucks on the road, they are only working on jobs that have been approved essential and are following strict health and safety guidelines.
We wanted to update you on ways we are working to ensure that when we are working and/or do go back to work, we will be making health and safety our top priority:
- Internal Safety Policy
We have updated our existing Internal Safety Policy, which can be found on our website. This has been developed by the Construction Industry Safety Coalition (CISC) and revised by The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC). To review this policy, click here.
- COVID-19 Action Team
Midwest Construction Groups Safety Committee has an Action Team in place, devoted to establishing how we protect and support employees, subcontractors and our community while sharing information, reducing the potential for the spread of the virus and supporting the continuity of our operations. The team has developed and will continue to refine protocols for responding to COVID-19.
- Meetings and Travel
Midwest is limiting in-person meetings, using remote conferencing technology tools and practicing social distancing when meeting in person.
We are offering a virtual training program with SWMGT that all of our staff and subcontractors will be required to attend.
